Interest groups are the special organization formed by people having a common purpose and are coming together to voice they are to impact the government policy in their favor. Their objective is to influence public policy for the goodwill of a particular section of people or groups. They sometimes also work for the interest of the masses and largely aim to pressurize the policymakers to surrender to their demands by lobbying government, advocacy, public campaigns.
